Fankar Academy Budaun is a literary forum and institute founded and nurtured by Mohammad Khalid Nadeem Budauni, a prominent poet and Urdu lover, who has tried his best to continue the literary tradition of the region that has been renowned within country and abroad in various fields of human knowledge. This institute has organized a number of poetic symposiums publishing many books.
As I am a diehard fan and servant of Urdu since my very childhood the city of Budaun has been familiar name to me because of the geniuses and famous individuals and organizations that have shaped the identity of the place where Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya and other Islamic mystics were born and preached Islamic spiritualism. The distinguished poets such as Shakeel, Figar and Fani including others are known figures who served Urdu enormously belong to this legendary land, so when I saw regular posts of Janab Khalid Nadeem Budauni Sahab, the director of Fankar Academy, I traveled to Budaun and met with him. When I desired to work on Budaun, he gifted many books from his personal library that included a couple of books written by the Urdu critic Shams Budauni.
Only a week ago the prime mover of Fankar Academy uploaded a post in respect of his illness and indifference of his near and dear ones. I thought I should meet him, but alas, yesterday I came to know that he is no more and left for heavenly abode. Inna Lillahi wa Inna Elehe Rajeoon.
The late Khalid Nadeem Budauni Rahmatullah Alaihe was not only a prominent poet, but he was also a good human being and always ready to satisfy the needs of others. When I requested him to write a Sehra on the occasion of the marriage of my youngest brother, Waseem Akram Siddiqui, he composed a marvelous Sehra that was liked by all while recited in the wedding ceremony.
He was committed to the objectives of Fankar Academy Budaun so I hope the persons associated with this institute and forum would continue its legacy. I pray for the highest honor for him in Jannah. Ameen! (Hamid Siddiqui)
