Shams Tahir Khan is a known face in crime reporting, investigating and anchoring. An acclaimed presenter, he has distinguished himself in crime investigative journalism having sensitive attitude as to stories of crime he reports.
Shams Tahir Khan began his journey as a crime reporter in the first half of the last decade of the bygone century with Hindi daily “Jansatta”. He worked there for serven years and then got associated with to TV Today Network Ltd. (Aaj Tak) in 2000. During the formative years of TV News in India, he accepted the challenges and probed to be one of the ablest media personalities. Having about two decades of experience in crime related journalism, he heralded giving a novel touch to crime reportage on India Telivision.
Shams invisioned “Jurm”- a weekly crime show on Aaj Tak which became higlhy popular instantly. Thrilled by success, he anchored and produced “Vardaat”, a daily half-hour crime show on the same Telivision which also garnered immense popularity. Both the shows were novel, informative and entertaining going deeper and deeper. It was a unique television viewing experience in India and they showed the way convertly and invertly to other news outlets. He is on twitter as well.
Over the years Shams has effectively led the crime team in Aaj Tak. In addition to routine crime shows he has also guided the coverage of major crimes and terrorist related occurrences all over India. Under his leadership Aaj Tak recently launched a new crime show “Raaz” based on the use of forensics science in solving crime puzzles. Again this was the first show of its kind on Indian telivision arena.
