Mumtaz Patel belongs to an active political family from Gujarat that constitutes her parents and sibling in active in the political arena. Ahmad Patel, his father and eight times MP from his native state, political secretary to Sonia Gandhi and treasurer of All India Congress Committee, was born in Bharuch on 21st of August, 1949 and passed away on 25th November in Gurugram during the pandemic COVID-19. Her mother is Memoona Patel and brother is Faisal Patel. She is married to Irfan Ahmad Siddiqui, a Delhi based lawyer residing in Vasant Vihar.
Born in 1977, Mumtaz Patel belongs to the Patel community, also known as Patidar or Kurmi Patidar in some contexts, that is one of the most prominent, influential, and numerically strong communities in Gujarat, India. This Patel Family comes from Piraman village in Ankleshwar taluka, Bharuch district, Gujarat—a region deeply tied to the Patel family’s agricultural and social roots. Her grandfather, Mohammed Ishaakji Patel, was a social worker, instilling a sense of community service in the family. She shares a close bond with her family, describing herself on social media as a “Proud Daughter, Wife, Mother, Gujju ben & Indian.” She has children, balancing personal life with public duties.

Till when will countless loyal ground workers who have stayed with the party through thick and thin …wait to see success … instead it’s failure after failure due to power concentrated in the hands of few who are totally disconnected with ground reality and are responsible for the misery and rout of the grand old party time and again,”
