Mohammad Saghir Ahmad Misbahi

Saghir Ahmad

Yesterday one of my dear cousins sent an image of Ishtihar (poster) for communicating Gulshan-e-Madina conference. This is an annual gathering of a galaxy of Islamic scholars, preachers, Sana Khan-e-Mohammad (PBUH), rectors of Islamic seminaries from nearby villages, towns on the state level and even on the national level.

My cousin referred to above has been baptized as Madani, his second brother, Makki, third one Muqaddas, fourth one Faizi and the last one Ghausi, all sons of Nazish-e-Ilm-o-Hikmat, Hamdard-e-Qaum-o-Millat, Khalifa Huzoor Sher-e-Bihar, Hazrat Allama Hafiz wa Qari, Mufti Alhaj Mohammad Saghir Ahmad Razvi Misbahi Sahab Qibla, Mohtamim, Darul Uloom Gulshan-e-Madina, Jamia Nooria.

I am both the disciple and maternal nephew of Maulana Mohammad Saghir Ahmad Misbahi, as my mother late Amina Khatoon was his alone sister who handed over her eldest son (Hamid Raza Siddiqui) to him for being Hafiz-e-Quran and Alim-e-Deen, and all praise to be to Allah Subhanahu wa Taala, he managed to fulfill the wishes of his sister for which I would always be grateful to him, my parents and to my creator and His apostles.

So far I remember, Maulana Saghir Ahmad Misbahi Noori memorized the Quran in Jamia Qadria Maqsoodpur Aurai, Muzaffarpur learning Tajweed so he is Hafiz-e-Quran as well as a Qari-e-Furqan. Then, he got enrolled in one of the most famous and prestigious Islamic University, Al-Jamiatul Ashrafia (also known as Misbahul Uloom) at Mubarakpur in Azamgarh UP, from where he graduated with distinction and profound grounding in Islamic sciences. Therefore, he is a proud Misbahi adhering to Maslak-e-Ala Hazrat in the subcontinent as the naming patterns of his sons suggest and indicate.

After completing Dars-e-Nizami, the rector of Islamic seminary, Gulshan-e-Madina Jamia Nooria told labbaik to the call of Huzoor Sher-e-Bihar and he served as a role model teacher in his Alma matter for a number of years and due to some comprehensions during treatment for road accident, he moved to Darul Uloom Naimia at Chhapra, the headquarter of Saran District where he rendered his services as Imam-o-Khateeb of Masjid-e-Jame within the premises of Darul Uloom Naimia in addition to working as the rector of this prestigious Islamic institution in the said district.

Meanwhile, in the last decade of the bygone century, Maulana Abu Zafar Siddiqui, the father of Mohammad Saghir Ahmad Misbahi brought his vision of an Gulshan-e-Madina on the ground in a village having a sizable Muslim population, inspired by the late Mufti Mohammad Aslam Razvi and this is why his youngest surviving son resigned from Madrasa Naimia becoming a full time caretaker of Darul Uloom Gulshan-e-Madina, Jamia Nooria and his endless endeavors and efforts brought fruits after tendering and watering the valley of flowers emitting the fragrance of Islam in the northern part of Bihar.

Now, the institution founded by my Nana Mohtaram, has become a center of excellence for learning and spreading Islamic sciences exploring and exploiting all available resources of tech and fund, in which the grand children of the founder are trying their best to upscale, advance and spearhead the mission envisioned by the father and son, for which Maulana Mohammad Saghir Ahmad Misbahi deserves to be appreciated.
