Muzaffarnagar city and district in Saharanpur Division is known for a number of reasons. Thana Bhawan once a part of Muzaffarnagar and now lying in Shamli district is the ancestral village of the Urdu humorist Shaukat Thanvi. Amir Alam former M.P. and Uttar Pradesh minister, chairman of Bharat groups of colleges is one of the politicians serving the people here. Liaquat Ali Khan, first Prime Minister of Pakistan born in Karnal also lived in Muzaffar Nagar. Nawazish Alam Khan represented Budhana Vidhansabha. A prominent poet, Alam Muzaffarnagri was a member of Sadaat-e-Barah, who studied Baizavi, Tafseer-e-Kabeer, Hidaya and Sahih Bukhari and others from Molvi Safdar Ali Irani and after having been educated in the university he worked as a lecturer in Islamia Inter College Muzaffarnagar. He laments the modern mentality as per below:

Kadir Rana, as a member of BSP won 2009 election for Muzaffarnagar Lok Sabha constituency. He had already represented Morna in 2007. Dr. Shahnawaz Rana (born 14 March 1976) is an Indian businessman, politician and former MLA from Bijnor. He got education from DAV College Muzaffarnagar and Chaudhary Charan Singh University. Nawazuddin Siddiqui of Budhana is a known actor for his style. He married a childhood friend Anjali later named Aalia and had two children one boy and another girl. A.M. Turaz born in Muzaffarnagar on 19 September, 1974 is a poet, lyricist and script writer. A lot of Islamic scholars hail from this region.
As regards Sadaat-e-Bara belonging to Muzaffarnagar region, they are well documented and this phrase is spelled variously Sadaat-e-Barha and Sadaat-e-Bareha. Some historians contend that they are not real Sadaat but belong to the upper caste Indian converts. However, their legacy and historical significance cannot be overlooked. (Hamid Siddiqui)
