FAQIHUL HIND, MAULAAN KHALID SAIFULLAH RAHMANI

Faqihul Hind is a noun phrase of Arabic language simply meaning ‘Islamic Jurist of India’ and an honorific title to be bestowed upon a person for his erudite scholarship in Islamic jurisprudence. There are no hard and fast rules for according this title to particular person. However, this title has widely been given to Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani Qasmi, President of All India Muslim Personal Law Board and Secretary General of Islamic Fiqh Academy of India, Delhi and founding Director of Al-Mahadul Islami al-Ali, Hyderabad. In addition there are numerous institutions and organizations under his patronage.

Indeed, Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani is Faqihul Hind, perhaps the most erudite Islamic Jurist of India. His long services in the Islamic Fiqh Academy of India, achievements as a writer of valuable books on Islamic jurisprudential issues relevant in the modern era, his concern to train the fresh graduates from Islamic seminaries on Islamic rulings pertaining to Islamic faith and life style and providing patronage to the distinguished Islamic scholars around India and other responsibilities such as presiding over All India Muslim Personal Law Board makes him stand out from other contemporaries. The aforesaid books written by the Faqihul Hind, Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani amongst others are evidence to his erudite in Islamic sciences. Asan Usule Hadith is an attempt to make easy the theory of Hadith. Qamus al-Fiqh is reference dictionary of Islamic jurisprudence dealing with particular legal register in the field.
