K. Rahman Khan, a visionary educationist, veteran politician, responsible former Union Minister of Minority Affairs, Ex-deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha and successful Chartered Account, has given a particular attention to education that is the backbone of any civilized and prosperous community.
Born on 5th April, 1939 in Mandya, Mysore State and associated with Indian National Congress, he has been an integral part of the Manmohan Singh Government in reference to minority affairs and issues related to Awqaf in India. He has firsthand experience of practical problems of Indian Muslims. Therefore he has gas given particular attention to education emphasizing on material prosperity and spiritual pursuits.
Al-Ameen Education Society Bangalore has done a marvelous job in the field of education in Karnataka where about 13 percent of total population adheres to Islam, a religion of peace, prosperity and betterment in both the worlds. K. Rahman Khan in association with Al-Ameen Education Society Bangalore founded a medical college at Bijapur.
As the Chairman of K.K. Education and Charitable Trust he patronizes its various schools in the name of Delhi Public School and School of India in Karnataka serving the cause of quality education for the future assets of the nation.
One of the appreciable achievements of Janab K. Rahman Khan Sahab is Anubhav Siksha Kendra that imparts free education to hundreds of poor children living in slum areas with the same standards that the elite public schools boast of. It arranges free transportation as well to the students studying here. Scholarship also is provided by this charitable trust with rendering other services.
K. Rahman Khan has authored a valuable book on Indian Muslims, in which he has explored the conditions of the community and future prospects to be harnessed to deal with issues being faced by Indian Muslims particularly in harsh conditions of the contemporary realities.
