Imran Pratapgarhi now is an MP in the upper house of the Indian Parliament on behalf of the Congress from the State of Maharashtra. He came to the limelight as a rock star poet. There may be no superb poetics in his poetry composition as some poets allege, but he has been a popular poet from the very start and attracted large crowds in the poetic symposiums that are organized for the political purposes by the politicians as well. If we carefully study his poems, his poetry appears to be political poems. Here are some examples.
Main Falasteen Hun
Main Falasteen Hun is a moving poem of Imran Pratapgarhi that addresses the issue of Palestine. The atrocities inflicted by Israel Government on Palestinians are a stain on the forehead of humanity. The poet has elegized the courage, determination and plight of the Palestinians in this poem.
Main Kashmir Hun
Main Kashmir Hun is another example of the political poetry of Imran Pratapgarhi. Kashmir issue is one of the major political issues of the subcontinent. Due to terroristic activities, the public there has paid the heavy price in terms of lives and property. The full poem in Devanagari script reads as under:
