Darul Uloom Gulshan-e-Madina Jamia Nooria is a prominent Islamic educational institution called Madrasa, which is situated in the village Mauna Post Walipur, Via Rampur Hari, District Sitamarhi, the Mithila region in northern Bihar, India. The Muslim populated hamlet Mauna can be reached from Muzaffarpur via NH 77 going to Sitamarhi turning from Khanua or Kuahi, which is approximately 4 km from the settlement. The block headquarter Runisaidpur is only about 14 km from here.
Darul Uloom Gulshan-e Madina, Jamia Nooria, Mauna Walpur has been founded by my maternal grandfather late Mohd Abu Zafar Siddiqui, the grandson of the local Zamindar Janab Dost Ali Sb. The founder of the institution named this Islamic seminary after his granddaughter Anjum Ara alias Noori Parween (The daughter of his only daughter late Amina Khatoon) in the year of 1993 (12th Rabiul Awwal, 1414 AH) I am eyewitness to the Islamic zeal, enthusiasm and restlessness of my maternal grandfather Mohd Abu Zafar Siddiqui to establish a Madrasa to spread Islamic learning and training in this remote area of the district where there was no such institution to fill the gap. He and his brother endowed large tracts of land near Mauna Eidgah to move ahead on this path. I have heard him reciting a popular stanza every now and then:
| I alone left for the destination, nevertheless People followed and a whole carwan came into being | میں اکیلا ہی چلا تھا جانب منزل مگر لوگ ساتھ آئے گئے اور کار واں بنتا گیا |
The sincere prayers of the founder of Gulshan-e-Madina Jamia Nooria were blessed by the Almighty Allah (ST). Hundreds of the servants of God are associated with this garden of the Prophetic knowledge and wisdom under the leadership, management and spiritual guidance of Hazrat Maulana Alhaj Qari Mufti Hafiz Saghir Ahmad Misbahi Noori Qadri Sb Mudda Zilluhul Aali, the youngest of the three sons of late Mohd Abu Zafar Siddiqui Sb. The rector of Gulshan-e-Madina, Maulana Saghir Ahmad Sb is an alumnus of world famous Islamic University, Jamia Ashrafia, Mubarakpur, Azamgarh. He has rendered unforgettable teaching services in Jamia Qadria Maqsoodpur Aurai Muzaffar, established by one of the finest Islamic Scholars and Mystics of the Indian Subcontinent, late Mufti Aslam Rizvi Qadri Sb, where he memorized the Quran and also studied initial years of Dars-e-Nizami before moving to Mubarakpur for higher Islamic Studies there. Hazrat Maulana Saghir Ahmad Misbahi Sb spent a number of years in Darul Uloom Naimia Chhapra as the Principal and Imam & Khatib of Jama Masjid there in the last decade of the past century. He gave up this lucrative paid service to nurture and develop the Madrasa, his father established with so many dream projects ahead. By grace of Allah Subhanahu wa Taala, Gulshan-e-Madina Jamia Nooria has successfully traveled many a milestones under its visionary Mohtamim Sb, who has full support and cooperation of his two elder brothers, Hazrat Mohd Rizwan Sb and Jameel Akhtar Sb and his eldest son Mr Madani. Mufti Saghir Ahmad Sb issues also Islamic rulings, when he is approached by Muslims to know Islamic point of view regarding Islamic life. Hence, Gulshan-e-Madina Jamia Nooria has its own Darul Ifta.
Gulshan-e-Madina Jamia Nooria has its beautiful building, in which hundreds of students quench their thirst of knowledge and learning. This institution has become a center of social gatherings and Islamic conferences many times a year, which are attended by thousands of people from different areas and the teachers and preachers here visit nearby villages and towns to satisfy the religious and spirituals needs of Muslims living there. There are various future projects, which are likely to be completed in near future.
