TEAMWORK IN THE HOLY QURAN
Teamwork may be simply defined as “Collaboration and coordination of efforts between individuals or groups towards a common goal, sharing resources, expertise, and responsibilities to achieve success” and the Holy Quran the revealed divine guidance for the human being has ample references to collective efforts in realize anything that is just, legal and beneficial.
Here are some most cited verse regarding unity and collectivism –
وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا وَاذْكُرُوا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ كُنْتُمْ أَعْدَاءً فَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُمْ بِنِعْمَتِهِ إِخْوَانًا

“And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not be divided; and remember the favor of Allah upon you – when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers”
“और सब मिलकर अल्लाह की रस्सी को मज़बूती से पकड़ लो और मत बटो; और अल्लाह की उस मेहरबानी को याद रखो जो उसने तुम पर की थी – जब तुम दुश्मन थे और उसने तुम्हारे दिल एक कर दिए और तुम उसकी मेहरबानी से भाई बन गए।”
The aforesaid verse from the Quran clearly emphasizes the importance of team work and blessings of collective efforts against individual endeavors when the targets require planning and strategy.
وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتُ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ يَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَيُقِيمُونَ الصَلَاةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ الزَكَاةَ وَيُطِيعُونَ اللَهَ وَرَسُولَهُ أُولَئِكَ سَيَرْحَمُهُمُ اللَهُ إِنَّ اللَهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ
(Quran 9:71)
“The believers, men and women, are protectors one of another: they enjoin what is just, and forbid what is evil: they observe regular prayers, practice regular charity, and obey Allah and His Messenger. On them will Allah pour His mercy: for Allah is Exalted in power, Wise.”
“मुसलमान पुरुष और मुसलमान स्त्रियाँ एक दूसरे के सहायक और संरक्षक हैं; वे भलाई का आदेश देते हैं और बुराई से रोकते हैं, वे नियमित प्रार्थना करते हैं और नियमित रूप से दान करते हैं, और अल्लाह और उसके रसूल का पालन करते हैं। अल्लाह उन पर अपनी दया बरसाएगा, अल्लाह शक्तिशाली और बुद्धिमान है।”
وَتَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوَى وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ
Cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression.”
وَلَقَدْ كَرَّمْنَا بَنِي آدَمَ وَحَمَلْنَاهُمْ فِي الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ وَرَزَقْنَاهُم مِّنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَفَضَّلْنَاهُمْ عَلَىٰ كَثِيرٍ مِّمَّنْ خَلَقْنَا تَفْضِيلًا
“We have certainly honored the children of Adam and carried them on the land and sea and provided them with good things and preferred them over much of what We have created, with [definite] preference.”
(Quran 17:70)
“हमने आदम की संतान को अवश्य ही सम्मान दिया है और उन्हें जमीन और समुद्र में चलने वाले बनाया है और उन्हें अच्छी चीजें दी हैं और जिन चीजों को हमने पैदा किया है, उनमें से अधिकांश पर उन्हें प्राथमिकता दी है।”
وَكَذَلِكَ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا لِتَكُونُوا شُهَدَاءَ عَلَى النَّاسِ
(Quran 2:143)
“And thus We have made you a just and balanced community, that you may be witnesses over the people.”
(Quran 2:143)
“और इसी तरह हमने तुम्हें एक मध्यम और संतुलित समुदाय बनाया है, ताकि तुम लोगों पर गवाह बन सको.”
إِنَّمَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌۭ فَأَصْلِحُوا۟ بَيْنَ أَخَوَيْكُمْ ۚ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ ١٠
The believers are but one brotherhood, so make peace between your brothers. And be mindful of Allah so you may be shown mercy. (49:10)
“मोमिन लोग एक ही भाईचारे के हैं, इसलिए अपने भाइयों के बीच सुलह कराओ। और अल्लाह से डरते रहो ताकि तुम पर रहम किया जाए।” (49:10)
We can see the aforesaid verses in the Holy Quran strongly emphasizes on the teamwork and collective efforts.
