Nayyar Miya is contemporary Islamic mystic, scholar and social activist from Rudauli Sharif. The successor to the Shaikhul Alam and Masnad Nasheen of the Khanqah at Rudauli in Barabanki, he is also addressed as Nayyar-e-Millat. He is active in numerous areas of Islamic and human causes adhering to the teachings and traditions of his Sufi Master Ahmad Abdul Haq Rudualvi (R). His real name is Shah Ammar Ahmad Ahmadi.
Nayyar Miya is an accomplished Islamic scholar and teacher of Hadith and other Islamic sciences in Jamia Chishtiya at Rudauli. He is a Mufti issuing Islamic rulings pertaining to personal laws when asked through the platform of Sabri Darul Ifta. Publishing, editing and authoring books is his passion. Chishtiya Higher Secondary School and Chishtiya Primary School are run under his patronage and guidance.
One of many characteristic of Nayyar Miya is that he is aware and conscious of advancement in the means of communication running a website namely www.makhdoom-e-rudauli.org, present on Facebook, YouTube and other electronic and print media. He is a shining star of Silsila-e-Chishtiya Sabriya.
Nayyar Miya is also appreciated for his activism for Chishtiya Girls College. This college is a beacon of hope in the field of education for the girls of the minority community in this age of commercializing education.
It would be relevant to mention here that Hazrat Nayyar Miya has given the conditional support to Waqf Amendment Bill, 2024, for which he is being criticized. He insists on the establishment of Dargah Board to protect the autonomy and spirituality of Khanqah system warning the persons following Barelvi movement of conspiracies of the rival groups.
Nayyar Miya is continuing the bright and shining traditions of Islamic spiritualism spread by Khwaja Moinuddin Chhishti Ajmeri, Alauddin Sabir Kalyari and others. He has launched a movement namely Sabri Mission to create the culture of spiritualism and peaceful co-existence. (Hamid Siddiqui)
