Kamal Farooqui has been associated with All Indian Muslim Personal Law Board for a long time. During my stay in the headquarter of the apex body of Indian Muslims in reference to the personal law, the Secretary of AIMPL Board (All Indian Muslim Personal Law Board) and Chief Executive Officer of Fiqh Academy of India, late Hazrat Ameen Usmani Sahab (R) had sent me to him. Janab Kamal Farooqui Sahab worked at the time in ITO.
When I saw the explanatory note of Dr Waqaruddin Latifi in reference to Mr Farooqui getting the children of a school in Amroha chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ in a video garnering unprecedented attention on the social media nowadays, I remembered Janab Kamal Farooqui Sahab, short height but high vision reflected in his eyes.
The officer bearers of AIMPL Board did not like his member getting anyone chant Bharat Mata Ki Jai. As per their understanding of this Hindi phrase glorifying the love for the homeland is anti-Islam and they have opposed chanting such slogans that amount to polytheism. How chanting such phrases amounts to polytheism, it may be a matter of debate, but the stand of the persons associated with this pan-India organization believes as such so they sought the explanation of Mr Farooqui.
Mr Kamal Farooqui explained to the satisfaction of the office bearers of All India Muslim Personal Law Board headed by the Faqihul Hind, Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rehmani Damat Brakatuhum, resident of Bihar, working in Hyderabad and dominating the Islamic cleric landscape of the national Capital Delhi.
The video going viral on the social media in reference to me as to getting the children chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ is related to a school run under my administration in Amroha and this is not fake one. However, some well-wishers explained to me its background and the same being non-Islamic. Therefore, I had proclaimed for avoiding it at that very time and now I do not get anyone chant ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, but now ‘Jai Hind’ is the norm of my school located in Amroha. I regret that one old video is being exploited to disgrace All India Muslim Personal Law Board.
Mr Kamal Farooqui is a Chartered Accountant by profession. He had been the Chairman of Delhi Minority Commission. He is one of the members of All Indian Muslim Personal Law Board and All India Milli Council amongst other things. (Hamid Siddiqui)
